Neighbor Comments on Playfield Reclamation

The landscape committee serves at the request of the Board of Directors and welcomes the participation of all residents interested in preserving and improving our natural and landscaped areas.  Committee members are all volunteers, with member-selected chairpersons. The board appoints a board member to act as coordinator and to attend the meetings.  Meeting schedules and meeting minutes are posted to the web site. Please contact any of the current committee members with questions and suggestions; current contact information is listed below.
What the landscape committee does:
Proposes projects and recommends budgets to the board for needed natural area and landscaped area improvements and maintenance
Disseminates information and reports on the goals, objectives and procedures of the landscape management plan, including the use of native plants and the removal of exotic invasives
Shares responsibility for care and maintenance of trees with Capital Assets Committee and coordinates the activities of the Landscape Contractor
Organizes tasks and activities for resident volunteers participating in cluster-wide Spring Work Day, usually held in mid-to-late April, and Fall Work Day, in mid-to-late October.  Whenever special projects are identified, the committee assembles an appropriate team of committee members and residents to execute an approved plan
Undertakes significant pruning projects to improve health and appearance of established plants in landscaped areas; conducts an annual hands-on pruning workshop, with a consulting certified arborist, for the benefit and education of interested residents.
Please note: ONLY committee-sanctioned pruning of trees and shrubs or removal of ground covers on cluster property is permitted.
Reviews and approves requests and plans proposed by individual residents for planting on cluster property, including the proposed maintenance of those plantings
Assists in organizing neighbors to participate in Adopt-A-Spot projects for selection, planting, and maintenance of new committee-sponsored landscaping
