WCA Owner/Tenant Contact Update Form

Maintaining current contact information helps the board and its committees reach owners and tenants with important board announcements as well as during emergency events such as a water/gas main break or to report storm damage to vehicles or other property.  Each owner and paying tenant should complete a separate form.  Non-resident owners should enter their address at the end of the form.  Note: You do NOT need to have a Google account in order to update and submit the form.

To My Hunter Mill District Neighbors:

As we move ahead in this new “normal” and keep our county government operating, I want you to know that your Hunter Mill District staff is diligently working to assist you. Despite working from seven different locations, we are meeting virtually by video every day on Microsoft Teams (you can see several of us in the photo). This has allowed us to collaborate and stay on top of issues that affect you even beyond the pandemic, including many transportation, land use, human services, and public safety issues, and more. I don't know yet when we'll be back together again in the North County Governmental Center, but I assure you that a lot of work is

To My Hunter Mill District Neighbors:

As you have seen in media reports, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress on March 27. The $2 trillion+ economic relief package includes payments to local governments to cover necessary expenditures incurred due to the public health emergency from March 1 to Dec. 30, 2020. The costs to our county related to the pandemic have been tremendous and the economic relief is most welcome, especially as we discuss the impacts on the FY 2021 Budget. According to the federal formula, the county should expect to receive approximately $200 million, including $2 million for the Town of Vienna. (Clifton and Herndon will also receive funding through the county’s allocation). More information is forthcoming and I will provide you with updates. If you want to learn more about CARES, here is the U.S. Department of Treasury link.

As I've noted in these updates, there are a lot of what one resident referred to as community uplift stories in our neighborhoods and throughout Fairfax County. I have a few today to end our week on a positive note:

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the YMCA Reston is offering produce, available for anyone, free of charge, regardless of their affiliation with the YMCA, while supplies last. Go to YMCA Reston, 12196 Sunset Hills Rd. in Reston. The hours are Wednesdays, 4 to 6 p.m. and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. (Photo Credit - YMCA Reston)

The Fairfax County Department of Family Services (DFS) participated in a Diaper Distribution effort sponsored and organized by Northern Virginia Family Services in response to COVID-19 at the end of March. One hundred diapers per child were delivered to over 150 families involved with Healthy Families Fairfax. Several DFS employees participated in getting the

As we go through this pandemic, one thing I can assure you is that your county government is working! It may look and feel different, but critical services are being delivered and your Board of Supervisors continues to govern.

A great example is yesterday's (April 14) historic virtual Board of Supervisors meeting. It will be available for viewing tomorrow here. Despite being in 10 different locations, we were able to accomplish our meeting agenda. Two highlights:

Reston RELAC A/C Service Notification/Update

Date: Tue, Apr 14, 2020, 9:15 AM

Dear Customer

I Hope everyone is staying safe.

With the current stay at home directive it is very important to make sure our system
is operational so our customers are able to use their A/C effectively.

RELAC began the seasonal startup process on April 1.  This year we are only using our
regular staff for startup and not hiring any temporary workers.  We made this decision to
limit contact between our staff and outside help in order to keep our staff as safe as possible.

Therefore the startup will take longer than usual.  We will do our best to get everything
up and running by the second 80 Degree day in May.

If the RELAC team needs to do some work within your homes they will first ask if you are
comfortable with them entering.  They will wear gloves and masks to keep everyone as
safe as possible.

Our mask supply is getting low and we are finding it hard to find good replacements.  If
anyone has any information where to find masks to help us out,  we be most appreciative.

thanks
Mark

President Reston RELAC

The COVID-19 pandemic has immensely changed the way we interact with each other, from collaborating with co-workers on video, online distance learning for our students and virtual celebrations with family and friends. In the short term it has also changed the way our government functions, including Board of Supervisors meetings. Tomorrow, April 14, will mark the first time in Fairfax County history for an all-virtual Board of Supervisors meeting. For us on the Board it will be quite a different experience from our usual seating at the dais in the Government Center Auditorium, like the photo above. Our new challenge is to continue essential government functions while maintaining the ability for residents to fully participate in our public processes – basically to keep our open government open both

One of the highlights of spring in Hunter Mill District is the new arrivals at Frying Pan Farm Park! Kidwell Barn has been very busy recently, including welcoming these two new kids at right. If you need a break from the COVID-19 news, take a few minutes to check out the photos of the newest additions to the farm - there are cows, piglets, ewes and more. I know all of us are anxious to have the park open again so we can meet these babies in person! More on enjoying our park trails responsibly is below.

One of the silver linings during this pandemic is the beautiful spring weather we have had this month. Fairfax County Residents Discouraged from Taking Yard Waste to Fairfax County Transfer Station or Landfill

While the Virginia governor’s stay-at-home order remains in effect, Fairfax County residents are strongly discouraged from taking their yard waste to the I-66 Transfer Station or I-95 Landfill.
This will help the county to focus on collecting trash during the pandemic and encourage social distancing.
Public works officials say they’ve seen an increase in trips to these two facilities following the temporary suspension of curbside pickup of yard waste last week.
